Day 1 - Rivulet
I ended up changing my rendering style for this Art Month again since I still wasn't satisfied with my brush and color usage. Before this, I would overuse blending modes and have every layer of shadow and light on its own layer, which made changing things a lot easier, but at the cost of washing out my colors and bloating my file sizes. I started planning out my colors ahead of time and limiting my layer usage, which I think helped me improve significantly.

Day 2 - Submerged Superstructure
Rendering water's one of my favorite things! I found a specific room in Submerged Superstructure that I really liked the lighting of (MS_MEM02) so I decided to base this piece around it.

Day 3 - Chimney Canopy
Rendering the clouds and the sky was really enjoyable.

Day 4 - Fire Spears
I wanted to start doing more with the layering of Saint's fur and their patterns.

Day 5 - Fire Eggs
This was quick and fun to put together. I really enjoyed the process of texturing the eggs.

Day 6 - Taming
Snack time. I like to imagine that the lizards have plumage.

Day 7 - Crafting
Looking back on this, I think the lighting and shadows need more refinement, but I still really enjoyed the process of making everything shiny.

Day 8 - Saint
I don't usually give the slugs visible mouths, but I've started giving Saint one as a distinction.

Day 9 - Filtration System
Had some fun with a monochromatic palette. This one made it on the Anniversary Stream!

Day 10 - Worm Grass
I hadn't ever properly drawn Rain Deer before this, so it was pretty fun to come up with an idea for what their babies look like. I think that their fur starts off light and then gets darker and more matted from dirt as they age.

Day 11 - Lantern
Going with something simpler again here. I'm pretty happy with the contrast between the warm and cool tones.

Day 12 - Glow Weed
I always have fun with my Rivulet pieces because I get to play with water effects.

Day 13 - Five Pebbles
The composition is meant to parallel my Moon piece from 2023's Art Month. I wanted to start incorporating more of the cyan that Pebbles is associated with, hence the sudden addition of pupils.

Day 14 - Leviathan
Huzzah, another water piece!

Day 15 - Spiders
This is based on that one arena challenge with Spearmaster in the acid pits, which drove me a little nuts while I was trying to complete it.

Day 16 - The Monk
One of my favorites to come out of this Art Month. I think it turned out very warm and gentle.

Day 17 - Bombs
Decided to go looser with the lining and coloring this time.

Day 18 - Monster Kelp
Come to think of it, I hadn't drawn kelp or jetfish before this point, either, despite my affinity for water-focused pieces.

Day 19 - The Saint
Decided to go with something more abstract inspired by the Saint (achievement) instead of drawing the Saint (slugcat) again. I'm a sucker for split-complementary palettes.

Day 20 - Beehive
I think I could've done more with this one, but I was starting to get pretty busy with schoolwork.

Day 21 - Spears
Tried to convey a feeling of isolation. The color scheme's based on Metropolis, but I decided not to add too much detail to the background to create a feeling of openness and vulnerability. I always enjoy the process of rendering Artificer's scars.

Day 22 - Lantern Mice
The perspective on some of these guys is a little funny now that I'm looking at it again.

Day 28 - 7th Anniversary
I ended up not being able to finish the last couple prompts because the last couple days of March ended up coinciding with a project for one of my classes that I needed to put a lot of work into. I did want to at least have the anniversary piece done, though.

Day 29 - Nightcat
I also managed to finish this prompt because the idea I had for it was comparatively pretty simple. That's all, folks!
